DU Admission 2025-2026

The admission process for the undergraduate program is fully digital. The university manages everything online. The official website is admission.eis.du.ac.bd. You must use this website for your application, admit card, and results.

The process is divided into different units. These are the A-Unit (Science), B-Unit (Arts, Law & Social Science), C-Unit (Business Studies), Cha-Unit (Fine Arts), and the IBA Unit. Each unit has its own rules and exam dates.

Admission Test Centers

The admission tests are held in different cities to help students. You must choose your center when you apply online.

  • Cha-Unit (Fine Arts): Held only in Dhaka University.
  • IBA Unit: Held only in Dhaka.
  • A-Unit & B-Unit: Held in 8 Divisional Cities (Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna, Sylhet, Barisal, Rangpur, Mymensingh).
  • C-Unit (Business): Held in 5 Divisional Cities (Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna, Rangpur).

Note: You cannot change your exam center after submitting the application.

DU Admission Circular 2025-2026

The University published the admission circular in October 2025. It contains all the important dates and fees. You must complete the application online. There is no option for a paper application.

DU Admission Circular 2026

Application Eligibility

Not everyone can apply for the admission test. You must have a specific GPA. The requirements are different for each unit.

A-Unit (Science Unit)

This unit is for students who want to study Science, Engineering, or Biology.

  • Education Board: You must have passed SSC between 2020 and 2023. You must have passed HSC in 2025.
  • Science Group: Students from the Science or Agricultural Science group can apply.
  • GPA Requirement: You need a minimum GPA of 3.50 in both SSC and HSC (including the 4th subject). Your total GPA (SSC + HSC) must be at least 8.00.
  • Other Groups: Students from Humanities and Business can also apply to the Science Unit for certain subjects like Psychology or Geography. They need a total GPA of 7.50 (minimum 3.0 in each exam).
  • A-Level Students: You need to pass 5 subjects in O-Level and 2 subjects in A-Level. You must have at least ‘B’ grade in 3 subjects and ‘C’ grade in 2 subjects total. You must have at least ‘A’ grade in 2 subjects. No ‘D’ grade is accepted.

B-Unit (Arts, Law & Social Science)

This unit is mainly for Humanities students, but Science and Business students can also apply to change their field.

  • Humanities Group: You need a minimum GPA of 3.00 in both SSC and HSC. Your total GPA must be at least 7.50.
  • Science Group: You need a minimum GPA of 3.50 in both exams. Your total GPA must be at least 8.00.
  • Business Studies Group: You need a minimum GPA of 3.00 in both exams. Your total GPA must be at least 7.50.
  • A-Level Students: You must pass 5 subjects in O-Level and 2 in A-Level. Among these 7 subjects, you need 4 ‘B’ grades and 3 ‘C’ grades.

C-Unit (Business Studies)

This unit is for the Faculty of Business Studies.

  • Business Group: You need a total GPA of 7.50. You must have at least 3.00 in both SSC and HSC. You must have Accounting in HSC.
  • Science Group: You need a total GPA of 8.00 (minimum 3.50 in each). You must have Mathematics or Statistics in HSC.
  • Humanities Group: You need a total GPA of 7.50 (minimum 3.00 in each). You must have Economics or Statistics in HSC.

Cha-Unit (Fine Arts)

This unit is for creative students who want to study art.

  • GPA Requirement: You need a total GPA of 6.5. You must have at least 3.0 in both SSC and HSC.
  • A-Level Students: You need 4 ‘B’ grades and 3 ‘C’ grades in O and A Levels combined.

IBA Unit

This is for the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree.

  • GPA Requirement: You need a total GPA of 8.00. You must have at least 3.5 in both SSC and HSC.
  • A-Level Students: You must have at least 2 ‘A’ grades out of 7 subjects (O and A Level). You need a minimum GPA of 3.5 in both exams.

Application Process

The application for DU Admission 2025-2026 is online. You do not need to go to the university. Follow these simple steps:

  1. Visit the Website: Go to https://admission.eis.du.ac.bd.
  2. Log In: Click on the login button. Enter your HSC Roll, Education Board, Passing Year, and SSC Roll.
  3. Fill in Information: You will see a form. Fill in your present address, mobile number, and email. You can also give your parents’ National ID numbers.
  4. Select Exam Center: You can choose one of the 8 divisional cities to sit for the exam (Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna, etc.). However, the Cha-Unit exam is only held in Dhaka.
  5. Quota Selection: If you have a quota (Freedom Fighter, Tribal, Ward, etc.), you must select it now. You cannot claim it later if you miss this step.
  6. Upload Photo: Upload a scanned color photo. The size and format instructions are on the website.
  7. Payment: After submitting the form, you must pay the fee.
    • Fee Amount: The fee is usually around 1050-1500 Taka depending on the unit (e.g., Cha unit is 1250 Taka, IBA is 1500 Taka).
    • Payment Method: You can pay online using bKash, Rocket, or cards. You can also pay at Sonali, Janata, Agrani, or Rupali Bank.

Application Deadline: You can apply from October 29, 2025 (12:00 PM) to November 16, 2025 (11:59 PM). Do not wait for the last day.

Admit Card Download

You need an admit card to enter the exam hall. Without it, you cannot take the test.

Download Start Date:

  • General Units: From November 30, 2025.
  • IBA and Fine Arts Unit: From November 24, 2025.

Download End Date: You can download it until 1 hour before the exam starts.

Instructions: Print the admit card on A4 size paper in color. Make sure the print is clear. Bring this to the exam center. Also, bring your original HSC registration card.

Seat Plan

Dhaka University exams are held in many centers. You need to know exactly where your seat is.

When: The detailed seat plan is published 48 hours before the exam.

How to Check:

  1. Log in to your dashboard at admission.eis.du.ac.bd.
  2. Send an SMS from your mobile. The format will be written on your admit card.

Advice: Check your center location one day before the exam so you are not late.

Marks Distribution

The admission test has specific marks for each subject. Knowing this helps you prepare.

A-Unit (Science) Marks

  • Total Marks: 100 (Exam) + 20 (GPA) = 120.
  • MCQ: 60 marks (45 minutes).
  • Written: 40 marks (45 minutes).
  • Subjects: You must answer 4 subjects. Physics and Chemistry are compulsory. You can choose between Math and Biology for the other two. If you want to skip the 4th subject (optional subject in HSC), you can take Bangla or English instead.
  • Pass Mark: You must get 24 in MCQ and 12 in Written. Total pass mark is 40.

B-Unit (Arts, Law & Social Science) Marks

  • Total Marks: 100 (Exam) + 20 (GPA) = 120.
  • MCQ (60 marks): Bangla (15), English (15), General Knowledge (30).
  • Written (40 marks): Bangla (20), English (20).
  • Pass Mark: You need minimum marks in each section.
    • MCQ: Bangla 5, English 5, GK 10. Total 24.
    • Written: Bangla 5, English 5. Total 11.
    • Total: 40 marks overall.

C-Unit (Business Studies) Marks

  • Total Marks: 100 (Exam) + 20 (GPA) = 120.
  • MCQ (60 marks): Bangla (12), English (12), Accounting (12), Business Org (12), Marketing/Finance (12).
  • Written (40 marks): Translation (English-Bangla & Bangla-English), Error Correction, and short business questions.
  • Pass Mark: You need 5 in English MCQ. Total MCQ pass is 24. Written pass is 12. Total exam pass is 40.

Cha-Unit (Fine Arts) Marks

  • General Knowledge (MCQ): 40 Marks (30 minutes). It covers art, culture, and history.
  • Drawing: 60 Marks (60 minutes). You have to draw a human figure from a photo.
  • Pass Mark: You need to get 40% of the total marks.

IBA Unit Marks

  • MCQ (70 marks): English (30), Math (25), Analytical Ability (15).
  • Written (30 marks): Essay and composition writing.
  • Communication Test: 20 marks.
  • Negative Marking: IBA deducts 25% of the mark for every wrong answer. Other units deduct 0.25 marks per wrong answer.

Admission Test Result

The DU Admission 2025-2026 results are usually published within 4 weeks after the exam.

How to Check:

  • Go to the website admission.eis.du.ac.bd and log in.
  • Send an SMS to 16321. The format is DU <Unit Keyword> <Roll>.

Merit Score: The merit list is made based on 120 marks (100 exam + 20 GPA) for A, B, and C units. IBA uses only the exam marks.

SIF and Subject Choice Form

If you pass the exam, congratulations! But the work is not done.

Student Information Form (SIF): You must fill out a detailed form on the website.

Subject Choice: You will see a list of subjects you are eligible for. You must arrange them in order of preference.

  • Put your favorite subject at #1.
  • Be careful. Once you get your first choice, you cannot change it.

Deadline: You must fill this form within the announced dates. If you miss it, you lose your seat.

Subject Choice Result and Migration

  • Nomination: The university will publish the “First Merit List”. You will see which subject you got.
  • Migration: If you did not get your first choice, do not worry. There is a “Migration” system. If seats in your top choices become empty (because someone didn’t join), you will be moved up automatically.
  • Stop Migration: If you are happy with your current subject, you must click “Stop Migration” on the website. Otherwise, your subject might change to a higher choice automatically.

Final Admission

After the subject is finalized, you must go to the university for admission.

  • SSC and HSC Mark Sheets/Transcripts.
  • HSC Registration Card.

FAQ

Can I use a calculator in the exam?

No. Calculators, mobile phones, and smartwatches are strictly prohibited in the exam hall.

Can I apply if I passed HSC in 2024?

No. DU allows only “First Timers.” You must have passed HSC in 2025 to apply for the 2025-2026 session.

Is there negative marking?

Yes. For A, B, and C units, 0.25 marks are deducted for every wrong MCQ answer. For IBA, 25% of the question’s mark is deducted.

How much is the application fee?

The fee varies. For IBA it is 1500 Taka. For Cha Unit it is 1250 Taka. Check the website for A, B, and C units (usually around 1000+ Taka).

How many seats are there in the A-Unit (Science)?

There are approximately 1891 seats in the Science Unit (including quotas).

How do I get the Freedom Fighter quota?

You must select the quota option during the online application. After passing the exam, you must submit the Ministry-issued certificate to the Dean’s office.
